VIC Energy Efficiency Target Scheme

The Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme is a Victorian Government initiative that began on the 1st of January 2009 and is promoted as the Energy Saver Initiative.

The VEET scheme provides financial incentives for entities to undertake a variety of energy efficiency activities within Victorian households.  If accredited under the Scheme, entities undertaking these energy saving activities can create Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) which are then sold to energy retailers in Victoria.

The scheme sets out requirements for record keeping, training of installers, VEEC assignment forms and related paperwork.

If you have wish to become an accredited entity for this scheme CRI can assist you with:

  • Providing assistance with the creation of quality assurance, processes and procedures and other project design documents for the scheme
  • Assistance with putting together the application for accreditation
  • Providing record keeping software that can be used to manage the multiple activities within the scheme

The Carbon Reduction Institute is accredited for activities under this scheme and has successfully assisted four other entities to become accredited under the VEET scheme.
