Green Marketing GuidelinesThe NoCO2 and LowCO2 logos were designed to make it easy for business to communicate environmental awareness and for consumers to identify green companies and products. Our aim is to foster effective, truly environmentally friendly green marketing.
Green marketing incorporates a broad range of activities, including product modification, changes to the production process, packaging changes, as well as modifying advertising. Throughout all these stages of the green marketing process, the Carbon Reduction Institute can help you to build a consistent picture of your carbon neutral company in the market.
We see it as our responsibility to equip business and consumers with the power and instruments needed to fight climate change. We expect a genuine commitment to the environment from our carbon neutral certified businesses and all other participants in the Low Carbon Economy.

Logo UsageAt the Carbon Reduction Institute, we emphasise that Green marketing must not be misleading to consumers or industry. Therefore we apply certain rules to the usage of our certification logos:
- The NoCO2 logo may only be associated with a truly carbon neutral company. That means all companies carrying our NoCO2 logo must have had their carbon emissions assessed in a thorough carbon footprint analysis and then reduced and offset their carbon emissions according to the carbon reduction strategies we suggested. Only NoCO2 certified companies are entitled to selling Carbon Neutral products and services.
- The LowCO2 logo may only be associated with a truly low-carbon company. That means all companies carrying our LowCo2 logo must have had their carbon emissions assessed in a thorough carbon footprint analysis and then reduced and offset their carbon emissions to a certain percentage according to the carbon reduction strategies we suggested. The percentage reduction on the logo may only show the true carbon emissions reduction the respective company has achieved. Make It Carbon Neutral logos may only be applied to products sold by low carbon companies.
