Established in 2006, the Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI) is an Australian profit-for-purpose carbon consulting business helping organisations take real and effective action against climate change.
CRI works with clients across every state of Australia and internationally, supported by an experienced team led by Managing Director and co-founder Rob Cawthorne.
For almost two decades, we have helped businesses, councils, not-for-profits, government bodies and individuals understand, reduce and take responsibility for their greenhouse gas emissions. Our work is practical, commercially realistic and focused on measurable outcomes.
We believe climate action should be clear, credible and achievable. That means helping organisations move beyond broad commitments and into structured action: measuring emissions, identifying reduction opportunities, transitioning away from fossil fuels, improving data quality, supporting credible claims and contributing to a low carbon economy.

The Standard helps ensure that our consulting work is grounded in clear boundaries, complete emissions assessment, reduction-first planning, fossil asset transition, responsible use of high-integrity carbon removals and transparent public disclosure.
