The Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI) is a profit-for-purpose business, owned and based in Australia since 2007. We are committed to helping Australian businesses, organisations and individuals take real and effective action to eliminate their impact on climate change and contribute to a low carbon economy.
For almost two decades, our mission has been to tackle climate change and greenhouse gas emissions in a tangible way: by creating and implementing greenhouse gas reduction strategies, helping businesses and individuals do the same, and supporting the transition to a low carbon economy.
CRI provides a straightforward, cost-effective and robust process to help organisations measure, reduce and eliminate their greenhouse gas emissions. We work with clients across every state of Australia and internationally, supported by an experienced and knowledgeable team offering a full suite of carbon management, emissions reduction and climate strategy services.
Our work has always been grounded in practical action. Today, that work is further strengthened by the NoCO2 Net Zero Standard.
The Standard provides a consistent and replicable framework that underpins our consulting approach. It ensures that the advice we provide, the inventories we prepare, the reduction pathways we design and the claims we support are grounded in the principles of the GHG Protocol and aligned with what is required for genuine climate action.
This means our work is not based on vague ambition, one-off reporting or “choose your own adventure” consulting. It is based on clear boundaries, complete emissions assessment, reduction-first planning, required action, fossil asset transition, responsible use of high-integrity carbon removals and transparent public disclosure.
The NoCO2 Net Zero Standard helps ensure that CRI applies its skills consistently across all client work, while giving organisations a practical pathway to move from climate commitment to measurable, evidence-backed action. In doing so, it helps organisations reduce their own emissions while contributing to the broader shift toward a credible low carbon economy.
