NoCO2 and LowCO2

At the Carbon Reduction Institute, we offer two different certification levels for businesses that want to reduce their impact on global warming. NoCO2 is for a business wanting to become carbon neutral, and LowCO2 is for businesses wanting to reduce a percentage of their climate change impact.

Carbon Reduction Certification

The enormity of the threat posed by climate change compels all facets of society to do something about it. The Carbon Reduction Institute's NoCO2 Certification Program allows your organisation to take simple, direct and effective action against climate change. The program is within the reach of all organisations, and as at October 2008, over 85 companies have used the NoCO2 program to communicate their actions against climate change, ranging from large companies down to 5 person operations. Certification follows a simple 3 step process.

Calculate your organisation's carbon footprint in a thorough greenhouse emissions audit. Once certified, this is an annual process.

Reduce these emissions whereever possible. CRI's simple to use, online reporting tools will help you track the reductions you have achieved.

Offset the emissions you can't avoid through purchasing high-quality carbon credits. This purchase is done quarterly to minimise cash flow impacts and reward your company with a reduced carbon credit purchase requirement if it has succeeded in reducing emissions

Certification Levels

	NoCO2 Standard Achieving NoCO2 certification means that your organisation is carbon neutral. This is metered through an engineering audit that quantifies the greenhouse gas emissions impact from all inputs (products, services and labour) consumed by your organisation. Upon contractually declaring that it will maintain a zero carbon footprint, your company can proudly display the NoCO2 logo and communicate the strong environmental stance that it has taken. 	LowCO2 Standard LowCO2 certification is designed for companies who wish to communicate a percentage reduction in their carbon footprint. After conducting a greenhouse audit and committing to a percentage reduction the company can communicate the reductions achieved through displaying the LowCO2 logo. LowCO2 organisations can elect to provide their customers or potential clients with a "Make It Carbon Neutral" option on the products and services they offer. This is particularly attractive to SME's and other businesses that tender for work from councils and other institutions that lean towards carbon neutral services providers.
