Climate Change is not something we believe in it is simply fact.
The Carbon Reduction institute does not believe in climate change. We simply accept it as scientific fact. 97 % of Peer reviewed scientific reports support the consensus that human activity is behind climate change. Global acceptance of climate change is ever increasing, as demonstrated by the 197 agreed parties to the Paris Climate Accord.
Temperatures continue to rise; with the last 3 years being the three hottest on record. Furthermore, the last decade includes 9 of the hottest 10 temperatures ever recorded. With the greatest rate of increase in annual temperatures occurring between 2014 and 2015 and the second fastest rate of increase occurred from 2015 to 2016.
Carbon emissions are on the rise, demonstrated by the fact that the last two years have seen the highest ever volume of carbon released into the atmosphere. As carbon emissions continue to increase the need for action becomes more urgent.
Scientists have established that sea levels are rising at annual rate of 1.7 to 1.8 mm and the rate appears to be increasing. In time millions of people around the globe will be displaced by floods and tidal impacts.
While governments around the world are in almost unanimous agreement that there is a need for climate change action there is not the same agreement on how to solve the single most important issue of our time. The case for action is simply a matter of fact, and the urgency to act ever so clear.
We urge our political, business and community leaders, organisations and all of humankind to take action immediately by reducing their carbon footprint.
